6:12 Sunrise


We will the journey endless,
yet know life’s refrain

eventually fades out.

 

We sense the inside of our hearts

are of anxious rhythmic consideration,
our way station of life where respite

or more challenge will temper whether
yesterday’s beauty and pleasure

will again rise with tomorrow’s sun.

Perplexed with expectation
we become troubled.

Fearful we…

Who will hear the melodies,
blood’s crescendo and diminuendo ripples,
see rainbow vibrations rise atop

a sparrow’s whistling breeze,
smell the sensory freedom of flowers
opening by dawn’s fraternal light,
taste duration of life’s savory consciousness,
touch fretful brush-strokes of yet-to-come dreams
still seeking sentient canvases?

Restless…

 
Aware longevity’s final movement inexorable,
our essence retains purchase atop our will,
not yet willing to embrace
the echo of breath’s finality.

Tenacity smiles
