Attic Necropolis

Everyone life has their own kind of history, relics of mind and object that some of us visit, others ignore. (Image by Pinterest)

Poem Artwork

Attic Necropolis

A single bulb stands sentry over…

Motes of dust laying indolent,

their days of dancing now in the past.

Toxic air of yesteryears’ mistakes

haze over an unopened window with guilt’s regret.

In a dark corner,

Buddha’s picture hangs askew

above a retired brass bed of youth,

watching over the cracked hour glass

that has ceased being turned.

Stark images of a scene seemingly ended, especially that "cracked hour glass"

Felt like I was there. Yesterday's relics are tomorrow's treasures.

Sounds like my kind of attic, my friend. Yup, I could get into that scene!
