We Worry Too Little

Every year, an estimated 2.2 billion tons of waste is dumped in our oceans.
At the rate we are going, we need 1 and ½ Earths to sustain our lifestyle. By 2030, we will need 2 Earths. The teaching of some of our most hard-fought unlearned lessons remain right under our noses---and feet. No college degree necessary. (Image by pinterest)

We Worry Too Little

 

 

 

As ice
Becomes oceans' worst enemy

 

Drought
Defies climate change dissenters

 

Famine
Knows not organic-rich earth

 

Animals
Wait to become endangered

 

Privileged humans
Gorge on entitlement hubris

 

Will the global rich
Perpetuate further ignorance?

 

Will you and I
Act before it's too late?

 

Will the disenfranchised
Have the will to rise up?

 

Factoid alert

Survival takes tenacity and wisdom

The ant
The rat
The cockroach
Know well civilization's habits
Enabling their minuscule societies to remain intact

 

 Still

 

We wonder if
We can beat the odds

 

After all…

We are superior

Right?

Yeah! We THINK we "are superior"........what blinded thinking! We had better start worrying before it's too late, Odin! Wealth is so blinding to the truth.

Too many deniers, too little action. Some local stores had containers where we could return plastic bags, but recently stopped doing even that, and here, recycling won't take them either. we're drowning ourselves in plastic, When it's trash pickup day, I'm constantly amazed at just how much trash some people can generate. I only hope tomorrows technology can save us from ourselves. We are not superior, just ignorant.

Vacation cruise lines are allowed to dump at will if there "far enough out" it's really sad. There shouldn't be a list of "fish we can't eat" or in small doses? Safe enough? Look at the ocean waters at the Brazil Olympics.... Gross.
