Love’s Singularity
The planet was already in place
Tranquil in its apartness
While other cosmic bodies remained
Uninhabitable in their otherness
When your train arrived
Delivering you to a deserted platform
Love seemed reserved for others
Was it the location of ordinariness
Another stop no one remembered
A place where you lost your way
In a maze of identical paths
Where you heard for the very first time
The sound of your own footfalls
As you passed faceless clocks?
Beyond
As you sought your goal
The intersection of two curved paths
Radiated the sun’s insistent light
The moon’s reticent dark
Visibility faltered
Sound arrested
Heartbeat slowed
Hesitated
Stopped
Befell
One
Might you have stepped through the sun’s heat
And found the two paths curving endlessly
Giving you a glimpse of eternity’s paradox
To wonder about
To muse
To be?
For
Harmony knows not of separateness
Abiding singularity’s state of love
Invincible
