Last Breath Celebration

by Odin odin@aflx.com — Read all 3,869 poems by Odin odin@aflx.com

To look around one can’t help but wonder when, if ever, the hordes of vacuous mind-sets will evolve and finally appreciate their sentient ability as a gift, if only for now as they witness the lesser forms of nature that celebrate their demise without regret. Image by Karen Holmes)

Last Breath Celebration

Like all other “Creations of Nature”

We are witness to…

The sun rises
like any other day
except...

Today's awakening erupts

Innate calendars run asunder
you're finally free
no more corralling of instinct
no more downside to curiosity
no more programs to die by

Infinity calls

Shackles fall free
unhappiness exits
inner flames cleanse bodily disease
smoke and cloud transport molecules of ecstasy
to form anew

You run
then spring
then...

Catching the first breeze to nowhere
to everywhere
to schedules unknown
to existence sans time
where chance be not tabled
worth be not an issue
day and night be one
converging all that was
to all that is
or will ever be

The eyes of consciousness have opened

Have smiled a curious grin,

Knowing one has made it to the next iteration

Of its relay existence

Welcome to your last breath celebration…

It might not end.

Certainly worthy of speculation. For some, the last breath leaves lots of regrets. For others, perhaps a majority, it means freedom to become whatever cult believed in predictors will happen. So well in fact, that the cult believer believes it absolutely without question.

That I think you are referring to the elements that make us up. Upon the last breath go back to their original state and become what they have always been, fuel for the next life to come, whether that be in a year or an eon, it doesn't matter because it is just matter. The only kind of reincarnation that certainly is going on all the time since life has originated.

Sounds glorious. I can't wait if it is like this.
