Test, test, test,

Ventilators, ventilators, ventilators,

Stay home, stay home, stay home.

Why do politics stay duplicitous?

Why does leadership momentarily patronize science?

Why do economics place profit before life?

Tomorrow

We will rise and face
The next salvo of contagion-bombs bursting,
The next unguarded sneeze or cough,
The next senseless loss of life,
Be it by another’s hand directly
Or through contact with virus residual of unknown origin.

Future unknowns…

Will warnings be heeded?

Will denial again rear its ugly head,

Again?

Then what?

911?

And once more only have hope as remedy?
