Poem Artwork

Awaiting Time

Time’s sunlit hours age naked loneliness,
even as delusional repose
stares out from beneath sunglasses
trying to shield against reality’s radiation,

The kind immune to technical measure,

The sort drifting into evening’s charade
where hiding beneath the sheets
never escapes tomorrow’s sunrise,
duration’s sweep of hour hands
counting down our withering existence.

Such might be Conid 19’s  mission.

Like father time, the harbinger of death always stalks. Covid-19 may just be just another tool for presenting death to us. Perhaps a more, kinder and gentler version rather than hanging on for years of no substance.

And more than likely, it's going to get worse before it gets better, as we wait.

We don't really have to wait too long for time to arrive, especially in these days of Covid 19. Love the line:

Where hiding beneath the sheets
never escapes tomorrow's sunrise.

Indeed.

Your words express much of what so many feel. You capture time's travel and make my head spin more than it has been already! What is going on, Odin?

Love ya!
