The Day

How many of us, as this century began, would have thought that the 60 days leading up to November 3 would be fraught with such a challenge to our species. (Image by pinterest)

Poem Artwork

The Day

So many windows with faces splayed to look

At the chaos on the street below

A turmoil no one is able to understand

How could it have reached this point

Just open mouths agape

No sirens, no gunshots

Yet…

So many assembled in frozen tableaus

Eyes of disbelief

Arms flailing empty air

Other covering children’s eyes

From what few that age comprehend

Above…

Windows now raise

Faces of terrorized eyes

Shout down to the still life below

Appearing robotic

As they try and determine true north

In an alternate universe

Where this species’ craziness of conscience

Hasn’t arrived yet

Such might be the day in November

When our gift of sentient gifts ceases to distinguish

Us from a fallen rock or stick

No doubt, Odin! I've never seen anything like I've seen especially this year. I feel for the impressive eyes and minds being so afraid that they see this as "normal" behavior. Why even our "leader" incites riots......"Lock her up."....and other stuff. Ridiculous!
I've had writers block all year so far. 'Trying to "get better".

Love ya!

An impossible situation described so well. What kind of world are we now living in. May the prediction never come true.
