First, that art image is magnificent. It sets the tone for your zenith concept here in these lines, particularly the line with “..naked inner being,” and its pointer to us humans having intelligence, having spirit of the tail-wagging dog, and in that same line, the word ‘destroy’ . . .coming from the vagaries of not-caring. This portrayal of inherent good being suffocated {or allowed to drown} from no offer of life ring is effective in illustrating the human downfall we are witnessing. Very descriptive phrase, “…eat away at discernment,” in supporting your points of darkness — the lies, the shackling of generosity, obstructing illumination. “How simple it seems….” ~~ djl

You have struck a cord that resonates in this poem of those who could care less about others. In doing nothing, they do so much damage. A poignant reminder.

enjoyed this piece tremendously. i guess the worlds most compassionate that carry mantles of mercy have greater depths from their own past pain. i thank God for all my past
