Teardrops Became Sand

As the maxim says, one cannot know right without having known wrong. Time seems archival when ruminating over one’s present happiness. (Image by pinterest)

Teardrops Became Sand

Is a place where time once started
Where love and tenderness once reigned
Where oneness was oneness
It was a time when passions met
Lust was mistaken for love
Where mistakes became blood of the future
Where promises were forgotten
As memories faded
With each gust of wind

Sweeping through the ruins of our minds and hearts

I was reconciled to the mistake

And allowed the rock that once was

To become but a timely reminder

Crumbling into that place
Where teardrops became sand

This one has an effect itself of . . . grains of sand sifting between fingers that held them. It has a sand dune of sadness and eulogy for remorse. There is much movement in here, especially visual with “As memories faded/With each gust of wind” — that presents some vanishing, and “…mistakes became blood of the future” is mysteriously intriguing. Biggest best for me is: “Sweeping through the ruins of our minds and hearts.” Wow about that line. ~~ djl

we come full circle as humans in completeness only when we can admit we need to be more ever dependent on God for our purpose

Wonderful phraseology. Some of remembrance and some of regret. All waiting to become wisdom from the experience.

Lately, I've found that when my eyes start to tear, it's like each drop is a grain of grating sand.

So evocative, especially with the use of this clever metaphor.
