Happiness Does Not Wait

 

 

 

Such a state of mind

This thing called happiness

 

How fragile it can be

Like a leaf having enjoyed a summer

Clinging to life in the fall

 

Still…

 

Oh, how deep this realm can take us

True happiness is not eager to leave

But…

Perhaps that principle of life’s quest

Is persistent with enwrapping us in its love

Only because

 

Happiness does not wait

It is forever there for the making

The embracing

The responsibility inherent

With its persona

 

“I’m here.  Take my hand.”

I felt as if my search for a bit of contentment was enough,
until I found out it was not. So here I stand, on the precipice
of eternity, old enough to know better, yet too young to resist.

A nice take on happiness. It's like those who are given sour lemons and make lemonade out of them or have glass half full rather than half empty. Happiness certainly is a perspective that we can enjoy regardless of the surrounding environment.
