Dune of Life's Presence

Patience wants so much to be a part of our growth. With grief, comes need for patience. Why are we so intolerant of time’s reasoning? (Image by pinterest)

Poem Artwork

Dune of Life’s Presence

How stifling the present can be
So oft the result of other present moments

Like a chill that comes on a hot day
The stillness of Oming
Ushering in the moment of bliss
Creating its prelude
With the mind and heart
Coming to a standstill
Allowing conscious awareness
To be karma manifest

To chase the present
Is to not allow that moment
To be calm and real
The giving of the air
The breath of now
Enjoining
The wind
The clouds
And the sun
To enjoin

Patience knows not to chase the present
Understanding ones now is
There to confirm purpose
Needs to be our ever-present
Moment of existing
Offering another kernel of life’s sand
To become an inherent part of
Tomorrow’s dune of life

Evergrowing

Patience is certainly a virtue that will carry us through most of life's trials. But there are times when peril requires an impulsive response, whether good or bad, needed to change the course of an event that could be tragic.

Kinda like my latest rendering. Only better.

Warranting a thorough second read-through, I find much calmness has been conveyed in this writing. The Oming comes through well. I like how the second line braids the moments of past into present, but is actually an intruder to the ‘here’ place. Reference to ‘chasing the present’ is right up my alley. The idea of wishing the ‘now’ to hurry on up and produce the ‘next,’ is captured perfectly here. I can almost smell the incense. ~~ djl
