Poem Artwork

Anima and Animus

True beings stood quiet

each holding the other's hand

as they learned that one day

they would speak loudly for the quiet they had learned

True beings stood firm

these seedlings of skyscrapers

these winter snows of spring's envy

these monuments to be dedicated by endless time

True beings stood for the intrepid mother and father

for all who could hear

for all who would listen

for those few who knew of the quiet

and even fewer who knew of the firm mother and father to all

Welcome the quiet

drink of its memory

when true beings stood

as anima and animus

as yourself

yes, it us. i love Carl Jung, he is one of the many who believes in the power of the subconscious and the life's principle of expressing us. and yes, we are the ones who operate at the gates of the subconscious. i love this piece. thank you.
