Anger's Tempest

by Odin odin@aflx.com — Read all 3,869 poems by Odin odin@aflx.com

Closure of family disappointment, hurt, and loss often relentlessly holds on, causing grievance to resort to unhealthy anger. Might Einstein be right?

Anger’s Tempest

When Anger Finds Its Source,
One's inner clouds
Render cushions of comfort,
Rain becomes the cleansing internal sweat

An alarum asking to be understood.

Amidst ire’s duplicity,
Children might say,

 "What happened?
These big people are so unpredictable.
Why are they so nice all of a sudden?"

Accepting healthy anger is resolve's first step,
Impressions accepted for what they truly are…

Impressions,
Points of view,

Recognition that differences of opinion

Needn’t be justification for unhealthy anger,

Known for its out-of-control nature.

Yes

When anger resolves its source,
Love/hate merges as one,

Salutary anger finding solace
In not seeking a desperate righteous anchor.

Suddenly…
Mutual consciousness awakens,
Recognizing differences merely

Layers of experiences
Vying for acknowledgment,
Not battle.

Interesting
The tempest threat

Without a fuse
This kind of bomb becomes

But a impotent temperament,
Never to ignite.

An interesting take on answer. Never thought of it in quite that way before.

Einstein was right. Anger was an emotion that caused all kinds of micro doses of stimulants to the brain to right a wrong in our primitive world. When death and great transgressions caused immediate physical action to solve, if one could not reverse, the situation, like killing a bear that killed your children. On the stamina to hunt down the bear and kill it before it killed others.

At the time of puberty with all of those hormones flaring, young people learn to lash out with anger over trivial things like disputes over who loves who. Overuse of that anger emotion over trivial items in everyday life is certainly detrimental to anyone's personal progress. Most people in jail have anger issues. Totally counterproductive. I have a little saying for myself. Don't get angry, get even. Good karma has remarkably solved many issues that I could have gotten very angry over.
