For the adult, when a loved one is gone, reflections bring sorrow of hesitations.

Transpicuous Doors
Memory echoes the footfalls
Through paths we did not take
Nudging the doors we feared to open
Finally conjoining spirits once blind to gardens beyond
Move with enlightened spirit and independence crossing the Rubicon
Transpicuous. The value of reading others and learning new words in context. I know whose footsteps were still echoing. Reminders of loss. Working through poetry to the feeling of control again.
Amazing how the fullness of a picture can feel so empty, while writing about the feeling of emptiness can feel so full. Vintage Odin and as Diana pointed out, uncharacteristically short and to the point.
A surprise five-liner for you! First of all, I had to look up transpicuous, thinking it may have been in your self-crafted toolbox (my vocabulary cupboard still has lots of room in it), and secondly is noticing the reappearance of various forms of the word ‘echo,’ a signature in much of your work (and book). I like the transpicuous paired with blind. Finishing with the largeness of Rubicon {one that when crossed commits a person irrevocably} secures the whole in its other world transition. Footfalls of steps not taken is nicely illustrated with the painting, including the emptiness that voids into that sorrow of which you speak. ~~ djl
