To experience love

Is to be silenced by it,

Made speechless by its endless embrace,

Urging you navigate its unknowns

As a sailor might read the stars and sun

To survive

To know if love is realized

Seek words to describe it.

 When you can’t,

You know its enigmatic honesty

Is yet to be deciphered.

As love seeks not the burden of loss,

but the freedom to be given,

Love cannot be purloined,

Even though many attempt such thievery.

Hate being the antithesis of love,

Will, like wolves, act out such animosity,

Kill anything obstructing attempts to satiate

Until its hostility is well-fed,

Ultimately culminating glutinous behavior

Into self-destruction.

Fortunately…

Love knows one’s tears may flow

But love does not weep

Even though its meaning overwhelms words

Its elusiveness defies dishonest actions,

Its patience outlasts hate’s deception.
