Dominos of Love
So tenuous the balance,
So easy the topple.
Still…
Until the first is tipped,
The rest know not but to stand.
So goes…
First touch,
The infatuation of prize,
The surface lure of glory,
Knowing not beneath the aura of chance.
Yet…
To not move,
To not place a final piece in place,
To not show one’s power,
One’s steadfast conviction…
Such is to set in motion
The tremble of fear,
The sense of doubt,
The freezing of reality.
How stalwart
The pieces of love’s journey,
Its traversing of precipitous curves
And precise purpose,
All subject to
The failure of protecting the precious,
The very core of the vibratory movement,
The stay,
Or not stay,
The willingness to prevail,
To wait out the vulnerability of balance.
Oh…
To allow the dominos of love
To stay the course.
For love knows no end.
It desires to remain as
An indelible perpetual beginning,
Even when passion’s movement teeters
And threatens to collapse.
