Mystery in Free-Fall

by Odin odin@aflx.com — Read all 3,869 poems by Odin odin@aflx.com

There are times when we all feel we are being expected to atone for actions we know not why. How challenging such experiences become, especially when one feels genuinely misunderstood.Mystery in Free-fall

To make up for
That which you know not of
Is to ask forgiveness for an unknown

Yet…

There are times when
The unknown is real
Real in the sense of sorrow
Compassion
Consideration
Love
For the person feeling wronged.

Communication seems to have halted.
What has caused
Such a break in the mirror
The window
The door
The wall
One knows not of

Still…

One must convey kindness.

Why might such a time
In anyone’s life
Be so unknown
So bewildering
So wounding
Like a freefall from somewhere
To nowhere?

Mystery in Free-fall

To make up for

That which you know not of

Is to ask forgiveness for an unknown

Yet…

There are times when

The unknown is real

Real in the sense of sorrow

Compassion

Consideration

Love

For the person feeling wronged.

Communication seems to have halted.

What has caused

Such a break in the mirror

The window

The door

The wall

One knows not of

Still…

One must convey kindness.

Why might such a time

In anyone’s life

Be so unknown

So bewildering

So wounding

Like a free-fall from somewhere

To nowhere?

You have written a fine piece in the subject chosen. And you describe that feeling one feels in these situations so well. Most of us has probably been there, both feeling wronged and not knowing what we did wrong. There is hurt on both sides. For me and my husband communication is key. I remember once stopping my husband in his steps somewhere at the airport in Munich and telling him enough of this crap! I asked him to take time to think about what was going on, and then tell me, because he didn’t really know what was going on with him either. It took him about 20 minutes before figuring out what he was worried about. We could then talk it through and in another 20 minutes everything was fine, worry was gone and so was his irritation. This is our way of sorting things out and it works wonders for our marriage.

Having been in a "free-fall", my heart always goes out to "the person feeling wronged", Odin. Your words described that feeling so well. That's just the way it is! You are so real!! Write on!!

Love ya!
