Imagination’s Reality
My world is real to many,
A fantasy to some,
But made of imagination
A creation often more revealing
Than stepping into the world of common questions
And fabrication of answers.
Reality’s truth has become a football
Kicked from one end of authenticity
To the other end of falsehood.
Such persons exercising this game
Fear not the moving of the goalposts,
For honesty has become a sideline of shame,
To win,
To conquer,
To destroy,
At any cost.
Yet…
Imagination’s playful joy of a Nerf Ball,
The child within finding a sense of lightness
Is embraced by a smile,
An appreciation of lasting innocence,
Of knowing somewhere out there
Is someone willing to join
This innocuous exercise honestly,
Needing not any proof of belonging
Knowing such a state of heart and mind
Is where happiness resides.
Imagination…
So light its weight,
So heavy its purpose,
A balance of rules,
A respect for time,
And a friendly nod to those
Resigned to the demise of falsehood.
Love ya!
