Conditioning One's Unconditional Love

As a country, we’re losing our grip on many important values. Perhaps the most egregious inattention is to that of truly exercising unconditional love.

Conditioning One’s Unconditional Love

Which are we?

Those who know
Love needn't be object-oriented
Or
Those who worship individuals
Responding only to reciprocal reactions?

Might there be some conditioning needed...

Love without object or flesh
Love that demands no entity
But lives eternally
A sentient ability to be
To see
Smell
Taste
Hear
And touch the untouchable
Except in truth?

Like a desert of sand
Our kernels of existence
You
Me
Remain subject to endless dust storms
That which life's turbulent patterns
Stir up and foist on our consciousness
As the only actuality
Constructs of control

Might such influence
Be void of the principal of love?

Could it be...
In truth
To feel loved
To experience the act of giving love
Is merely a willingness
To be in that state of love
With the tree
The plant
The flower
The human
Even the spirit
Sharing the sublime
Giving back
A part of infinity's passion
As a way of Being?

Yet

We cling to human love so vociferously
As if that were the quintessential manifestation
When so many innocent caressable realities
Our surroundings
Earth's infinite support system
Asks for nothing
But our unqualified living with the grace of love
Void of any simpleton's resistance

Conditioning unconditional love

Sadly, genuine love with another is rare. But if you do find real love with another, it will never betray you, it will never dismay or enslave you, and it will always set you free. Thanks for this honest insight, Odin. r

While the title is a bit obtuse and confusing, this is one of your best offerings that I've read. Unfortunately, as you stated, most people either love people, and particularly one person who they seem to focus their entire life on, ignoring everything else around. And even more unfortunately, without another person, even lavishing their love on a pet without realizing they are taking advantage of the good nature of most animals to simply love unconditionally and harming their natural way of life greatly.

On the other hand, those who are in love with things. And money is the greatest of all things because it is interchangeable with other things and seemingly, can buy love of another individual if they love money as well.

I prefer the way you describe unconditional love. I'm in love with life. Not human right to life and destruction of the planet, but with every living thing that has created such diversity, so precious we need to preserve it and stop destroying it in the name of progress, wealth and greed (?).

Compelling thoughts that transcend the usual, the mundane, and the unimaginative. It requires excellent introspection to know love without telling someone you love them 50 times daily. Maybe we don't need to say it at all... Super write.
