Tranquillitas to Apotheosis
How ethereal the Roman goddess has become,
Seeping only into music's quieter moments,
Begging the quiet repose of aching hearts
To rest,
To calm,
To become still.
Peace knows of her grandeur,
Her relentless quest for serenity,
Sanctuary, and connection
To all that is at peace,
Or might be at the ready.
Ancient writing
Bore synaptic relationship with Annona,
Goddess of corn harvest survival for Egypt,
And that of Securitas
Symbolizing the Roman Empire's tenuous security.
Where today might be found
The Tranquillitas of a placated and satiated population,
Where the mind and heart's tranquil weather awaits entrance,
Where rancor and hatred might be nullified,
Allowing a collective focus
To ascend toward the ultimate glory,
Power,
Importance.
Yes
Blissful in nature,
Secular in its tolerance,
Supreme in its understanding,
Patient with its evolving honesty,
Confined to the within.
Yet...
Oh how soft the inviting allegro
Urging one's andante
Prepare for Time's Adagio,
That realm of contemplation
Where anger recedes,
Joy leaps not,
But caresses the wounds,
Beckoning a tranquility moment
Revealing the existence of one's own inner apotheosis.
But anger and rancor should have been diminished by civilization rather than increased. But I guess there's nothing civil about civilization. The dominant civilizations seemed to have on one's that were the most bloodthirsty and cruel.
