Purpose

Dreams are often much more than nocturnal mysteries.

Poem Artwork

 Purpose

How easily it vanishes

Sounds of birds gone

Touch of the kitten’s tail on leg

Quiet fluttering of resident hummingbird

Go inward, it cries

Seek not the external nudges

Know what wakes you in the night are not nightmares

But the nocturnal messages of  the daytime- realities you ignore

Time is a friend

Embrace

Allow

Listen and feel

Purpose is patient

I'm not sure of your purpose in this one. Except perhaps to let time remind you of something you missed during the day in your sleep?

The only time that I've been dreaming about what happened during the day seems to have been when I had a technical problem I couldn't overcome and and it would come to visit me in my sleep and dreams. Or, I had said something to someone or a situation with someone that I couldn't reconcile that would come to haunt me in my dreams.

This image fits the lines, inviting my interest right away. Dreams are a conundrum, referendum and kingdom that puzzle the human mind. The first line had me wondering which was vanishing, the daytime awarenesses or lack of daytime attention — or the night-time constructs, distortions and protrusions of daytime stimuli. I like the line “Time is a friend”. Such a switch from the concept of time working against us. Favorite line = “Listen and feel”. Thank you for that, Odin. ~~ djl
