Solitude’s Symphony
How supportive the allegro of one’s seclusion,
Affording sanctuary form,
Where the noise of the world is reduced
Allowing self to emerge
Free of disharmony’s clutter.
In the diminuendo of chaos
Order quiets the remaining dissonant interruption.
Thoughts wander freely,
And dreams take shape.
A new timbre of harmony
Begins its adagio assent.
In ether’s quietness,
One hears the whisper of lyrical tones
Seeking further harmony,
While gentle nudges of intuition
Guide unconnected melodies
To coalesce
Toward one’s zenith of joy.
The movement of Andante’s comfort
Reminds one of the humble nature
Of psychic wayfaring,
Its manuscript of authenticity protects
The experience of a living mirror
Reflecting the depths of strength and shadow
Following the movements of this sensorial journey,
An inward presence that is profound and raw.
In the quiet awakening,
The playful nature of new voicing
Crosses the threshold,
Bringing Scherzo smiles to the isolation,
A joyous interim before
Folding back into a Sonata’s stillness
Where one can reflect on the creativity that has bloomed
Like cared-for petals in the fertile ground of silence.
The value of isolation has shown itself
As a gift of self-discovery,
A space for further healing,
And the finding of peace with one’s own company.
Yes…
It may be but a retreat,
A strategic pause from the relentless marching outside,
A few moments to breathe,
To find incomparable bliss,
To simply exist honorably,
But to discover…
That is enough.
I have never found being alone disquieting. As far as solitude? I refer to Simon and Garfunkel… "Hello darkness (silence) my old friend… It's good to see you once again… Listen to the sound of silence."
While they get into the evil of society silently expressed on "… subway walls, tenement halls…" I find, like you, solitude be very relaxing and a time to let my mind run free of all the cacophony going on around me, mostly just noise.
