(ELEGY IN TWO PARTS)
Loss
In the hushed aftermath,
where memories of sorrow linger,
we find ourselves poised
on the edge of what was,
and what could be.
The weight of loss,
a heavy cloak draped over shoulders,
once strong,
now weary.
Yet, in the stillness,
a breath of hope,
a softness begins to stir.
We gather the fragments
of shattered dreams,
and piece by piece,
we rebuild.
Not as we were,
but as we are becoming,
stronger in our fragility,
braver in our fear.
The past,
a shadow of gentle smoke
that dances its ending,
but does not define the path ahead.
With each step,
we honor the pain
and embrace the promise
of new beginnings.
Might it be…
That in the heart’s resilience
lies the power to heal,
to rise from the ashes,
and to move forward into the light
because it can?

Often we bemoan an ending, unaware that something very new is about to happen. (Image by Odin AI)
Endings Hearken Beginnings
In the quiet moments after the storm has passed,
we stand at the crossroads, of endings and beginnings.
The echoes of shared laughter, now memories
whispering through the halls of a once vibrant home.
Hands that once held tight, now release,
letting go of what was, to embrace what will be.
In the space between loss and renewal,
we find ourselves redefining who we are.
The end, a door closing, but also a window
opening to new horizons and uncharted paths.
We carry the lessons etched in our hearts,
and with each step forward, we honor the journey.
For in every ending lies the seed of a beginning,
a chance to grow, to heal, to transform.
We rise from the ashes, not as we were,
but as we are becoming.
Stronger.
Wiser.
Free.
I believe the children this happens the better. We don't have to burn our bridges. But we should burn our sorrows may be holding us back from a bright new future ahead.
