The All of Solo
I begin the climb
In the hush of dawn,
Each step like a caress on the mountain’s skin.
The path winds like a serpentine of stone,
Leading me to heights unknown.
Alone, I scale the jagged edge,
Each breath a testament to resolve.
The summit calls,
A siren’s song,
Reaching into the valleys of my soul.
Rocks resound beneath my feet, firm yet yielding,
Mirroring the trials I’ve faced.
Every slip, a lesson learned,
Every pull and lift,
A victory earned.
The peak, a distant dream,
Yet closer with each heartbeat.
I climb, not just the mountain,
But the fears that often anchor me.
In solitude, I find strength,
In silence, I hear my truth.
The summit is not the end,
But another beginning, anew
Yes…
For every peak I conquer,
Another awaits on the horizon.
And so I climb,
forever reaching,
forever stepping upwards,
Hoisting my body and spirit into the unknown.
"In solitude, I find strength,
In silence, I hear my truth.
And the adrenaline rush when a slip occurs and falling on the safety rope. And then, it giving out and falling 1000 feet. The last free flight until the sudden stop.
I'm an adventurer but solo climbing was never for me.
