We often forget that one needs an experience of disappointment and sadness in order to fully appreciate joy comes more often than not
As a result of low spirits, not losing hope.

 The Unseen Thread

They say balance is a delicate hush,

 but the world shouts.

Many hold…

We are born into noise,

 neon clocks that never sleep,

grief that clings like wet wool,

 ambition with teeth,

gnawing at the soft underbelly of stillness.

Yin…

Tries to speak in the quiet between thunderclaps,

but Yang is dragged into war,

 a blade sharpened by urgency,

cutting through the stillness as if silence were weakness.

We build walls of certainty,

stacking bricks of ego and fear,

until the horizon disappears and all we see is our own shadow.

But…

sometimes a feather lands on a puddle and doesn’t sink.

A stranger’s smile undoes a week of sorrow

like a thread pulled from a tapestry

revealing the sky behind the weave.

And we remember:

Yin is the inhale,

 Yang the exhale.

Neither survives alone.

They are not opposites,

but interdependency,

lovers in disguise,

folding into each other like dusk into dawn.

A possibility exists.

Balance is not a destination,

but a rhythm.

 a pulse beneath the chaos,

waiting to be heard.

If we listen, really listen,

we find that even the storm has a heartbeat.

And it beats in perfect time.

This needs for me to print it out and tape it to my mirror; and if I could, memorize all lines following “And we remember:” — “A stranger’s smile undoes a week of sorrow” {Ron’s story fits here} and the image of the floating feather, heart and breath, each needing their duplicity…implements to the state of balance. I’ll keep it. ~~ djl

You brought to mind the story I tell about lying in the hospital alone one day, paralyzed. I wasn't thinking about anything where I recall until a group of carolers came outside by door and sang Christmas caroles before moving on.

I was in the worst possible situation ever – unable to move. But still, I felt tremendous joy and just being alive and started to cry. Just then, my sister's best friend came through the door and caught me crying.

She turned to leave, and I called her back and explained that I was happy. She visited and then left me alone again.

It's all about find the balance in what life has to offer us, balance between noise and stillness, grief and joy, yin and yang, not necessarily as opposites, but as a kind of rhythmic dance, the balance as pivot between extremes. A feather on the water, a stranger's smile, small acts that unravel sorrow and remind us of the unseen thread connecting everything. Marvellous.

I find this poem relatable to a book I’m currently writing. I will translate a few of the chapters into english and post here on Authorsden when I’m finished.
You have Expressed this question of balance and it’s meaning for us with eloquence and beauty.
