Resurrecting Love’s Essence
There was a time when effort hummed with meaning,
when creating efficacious stimuli for all was an everyday habit.
What happened to our grins-breaking through grime,
backs bent not in defeat but devotion.
We trusted the soreness in our limbs,
the honest sweat of working toward something good,
believing struggle could still widen the heart
and leave us smiling at the end of the day.
Those moments have thinned, nearly vanished.
Ease replaced purpose, noise swallowed intention.
The causes blurred, the rewards dulled,
and joy—once a companion to hard work—
slipped out the side door unnoticed.
We scroll past what once made us feel useful,
wondering when progress stopped feeling human.
So now we manufacture meaning by hand.
We weld patience to daily choices,
assemble courage from unfinished attempts.
Small goals become scaffolding,
checking in, showing up, trying again,
each modest success a spark we strike deliberately against the dark.
This is no mild task; it is urgent work.
We must keep stimulating one another toward care,
toward actions that refuse hate and shortcut cruelty.
Focus is survival now,
focus on love practiced, compassion enacted,
humanness defended aloud and together,
until striving itself becomes an act of grace,
Giving a resurrection of love an energized chance.
