My life was empty and mundane
Day after day I walked the
Treadmill of loneliness
My heart ached for someone
To fill my life with purpose
.
In slumber a dream escapes
To haunt me throughout the day
As I sit at my desk my mind wanders
To the make believe of my dreams
.
Someone speaks and I overhear
Of a place I have never been free to enter
My mind sketches a picture of a man
A silhouette in black and white
.
A vision inspires me
I can see my destiny
As you enter the room
With a smile meant for me only
.
With your arms open wide
You take me into your universe
Whispers of love circle in the air
With every breath I take
.
Loneliness and unhappiness
Fade away into an abyss
As I look into your eyes
A page turns
A new beginning
A new love…
For now and forever
.
light appears...giving you hope, love, and
joy, Kathleen!
Always,
Deborah

But it will never happen if we cannot imagine it.
Nice poem that takes us to the drinking gourd where it all starts...
