Through the Screen Door

Tiny square openings; Rustic
by life-
Ageless views; Waging moments;
flapping in the breezes
of days gone  by

Scenic dreams; Scenarios played
out-
Pulled through by the thoughts
of man-
A screen door museum; Evolutionized;
by the revolutionaries of art so
grand

We've become the stickman on the
wall of the cave-
Leaving our mark; On planet earth;
We don't belong; Fit in; or out;
Justa' poet in an unmarked grave-

A potter's creation; Purposely flawed;
stamped on the poet's lost soul-
Through the screen door comes the
final word-
as the credits began to roll

Oh the poet in an unmarked grave-
lay forgotten by the shore-
The 'ol woman cried; His words she
spoke-
for she was his midnight whore

Flapping in the breeze; Was the pages
of time-
Screen door images; and youthful woes-
*Rest not ye words in an unmarked grave*
Plant them where the ancient oak
grows

sometimes screen doors can obscure the reality growing outside the grave of the stickmen poets ...

your talent evolves and expands with each poem ...

This is so romantic and nostalgic that it hurts to read. It revives childhood memories of grandmas cookies, fireflies and summer dreams. You are a poetress of the highest order Lisa...bravo,bravo.

This is a treat for the soul, Lisa as I recalled all the screen doors that have been a part of my life; from the wooden one on my grandparents home to the aluminum one on my own, our life seems to pass through the door of time. Let no poet die with his words unwritten that those who follow can know his spirit. Excellent poem, Lisa. You just get stronger and stronger.
Take care,
Sherry

Very atmospheric. Makes the mind ponder on times gone by.
But who invented them screens. Whilst in a hotel in New York, I put my head out of the window-Smash- as this screen thingy tumbled to the ground. Should have a sign saying "Idiots beware a screen thingy outside the window"

Yup, Just a poet...Thats cos all poets are poor. Pee oh oh are. POOR..
