In My Every Moment
In my every moment;
There's a memory of you
It's old color-faded polaroids;
and broken china dishes-
Our travels on summer vacations;
and special holiday wishes
A basket of unmated socks;
your smile on twilights dawn-
Kissing a grandchild's scraped knee;
rocking them 'til days last yawn
The worry in your voice;
when things weren't just right-
The glowing joy on your face;
all those many Christmas nights
Worn out cotton aprons;
tied snuggly around your waist-
Blushing cheeks; When you realized
you'd said something in haste
Candy dishes and trinkets;
your favorite times of the year-
Spring; Fall and Winter's first frost;
snowflakes landing near
Porch swings and candlelight;
wisdom in every gray hair-
Precious moments and roses;
in the life we joined to share
Through all the years together;
with a love so deep and true -
In my every moment;
there's a memory of you
