I get so bloody sick of having to be 'PC' to keep from offending the minority!! America was founded upon Christian principles, but I'm expected to be generic in my Christmas celebrations just because there might be an agnostic in the room who doesn't believe in Christ. I don't deny anyone their right to believe as they do as this nation supports religious freedom. But what about MY religious freedom? For crying out loud, what I believe in is also believed in by the majority!! I read Sherry's post and I support it all the way. What has happened to common sense? You DO ask all the right questions Lisa. Right on!!! Great write... Michelle

In light of the recent passing of the anniversary of John Lennon's death, 25 years ago, I think his message of promise needs repeated.... "Give peace a chance." Great write.

I am stunned by the way things are changing. Why would we remove our National Motto from our money? It has been there all along and I have yet to find anyone who would refuse it simply because of the motto. No Pledge to the flag in school anymore...we stood every morning hand over heart saying those words..."with liberty and justice for ALL" I wonder if kids today even know the pledge. Don't dare say a prayer in class, not even silently, not even if your father is having surgery today...don't you dare pray there! Treating soldiers like they are responsible for the wars, then not taking care of them when they finally come home. Security can't check the woman in a Sari, at our airport, because that might be racial profiling and you know...that just wouldn't be politically correct, but they will detain me in a room for an hour and read me the riot act because I forgot to remove my nail file from my purse. Where has common sense gone? Why do we accept this kind of behavior and since we do accept it, who will teach the children about rights and responsibility and pride in a job well done, about the price of freedom? Who will guard the gates when we are gone? Who will feel the shame for not upholding the dreams of those who's blood was spilled to keep us free? Who will teach them to pray and remind them that they are never alone as long as they have God in their heart? Who will tell them the story of Christmas when the words have been stricken from our language? Who will teach them.....?
This is such a powerful write, Lisa. You ask all the right questions; the ones that an apathetic America wants to sweep under the rug and then pretend that we will always be free. Freedom of choice, freedom of speach, freedom of religion, right to keep and bear arms...what has happened to it all?

I agree with Larry. The Lord has steady hands...and never panics, unlike many of us mothers.

Luckily, our churches and religious schools are doing a wonderful job. Not to worry. The Lord is with us. And He never panics.

I think you know well of what you speak my dear Lisa and you say it with the conviction of a christian and a patriot. To hope for peace as Joseph says is an honorable hope but sometimes only speaking out and standing up for our rights and yes be willing to wage war to hold on to our ability to practise our religion of choice is more important then life itself. Thank you for expressing such wise words of wisdom Lisa.

I believe that the answer is in Peace, not war, so it will be a blessing when no one is willing to fight anymore. We need to teach the children Peace.
