Lotions of Honesty

Red and white plaid; Those annoying
plastic; Stiff; Tablecloths from hell-
begging to be wiped; washed;
Even thrown away with the leftover crumbs;
and the empty wax-coated soft drink cups-
I ask, who are you to ignore; discard my feelings
as though I were as disposable-

You need to take the time to re-feel my surface;
There are no scratches; grit; or wax on my face-
I lie not here in the afterthoughts of someone else's
spoils-
Nor in the midst of the turmoil of another's unwarranted
temper fit-
Take your hand from over your heart; For you have not
been sworn to anything sacred-
You bleed from the vein of invisibility;
Gone from you is your powers of truthiness-
For I have taken them all back; With pride and predjudice-

I bathe in the lotion of honesty; More often than you
will ever be aware of-
Take a good long look down the slippery slope of life; Then
turn to your own reflection and ponder it's shadow
of nothingness-
I may not be silk; but I damn well am not plastic and plaid;
nor am I as easily disposed of as you may have once
thought-
Don't bother with a vow of revenge; For you were never sworn
to anything sacred-
Just simply go ahead and finish bleeding; and I'll rest
here in your puddle; Without the slightest hint
of pride or prejudice

It seems everyone wants us to be the entertainment committee; to be the one who creates fantastic excitement for them in their lives...how unrealistic is that? and when we do not produce it for them we become disposable and they move on in search of another to lift them from the doledrums of their existance. If we each understood that we are solely responsible for our own happiness, success and for allowing love to enter our soul, we would understand how blessed we are to have a wonderful companion to spend our time with and stop making them responsible for the quality of our life. These types enter and leave this lifetime with nothing but a hollow shell, never finding themselves. They live in the plastic world of make-believe until the walls come crashing down upon them. Excellent rant, Lisa!!
Take care,
Sherry

Oh... Lisa! This hits home -- big time. I'm afraid we're all dispossable, anymore. But we certainly don't have to stand still, now do we? ~~Carmen

Powerful words expressed with deep feelings. In a throw away society some people have lost the meaning of true love and live only for the moments pleasure and no more.
