Cast Not Thy Stone




 

Cast not thy stone; For in the lake
I am; The waters that flow from your
eyes this day-
Regrets are not yours to embrace; Nor
should you call my name in sadness-
You should know that I heard your
voice; I kissed your lips; and
I touched your soul with love-




I remain strong in the dyes of Freedom;
Bright in the stars of hope-
Deep beneath her ocean blues-
But never will I blame her; Never will
I cry her name in vain- Blasphemy is not
hers nor is it mine to claim for her-
Though I'll know victory, only from my grave; Still
I'll hurt should others trespass
on her gracious heart-




She is the hands that mend the warrior's
minds; The loving face they see in battle;
The voice of courage; strength and might;
The truth; The honor; The light-
She is their voice long after they're gone; Their
song, even when the trumpets are silent-
The heartbeat of their unspoken reason; And
the breath of their final season-




Oh Darling cast not thy stone of regret into
her deep blue eyes-
For it was She that sheilded me from pain;
It was she that draped o'er me with her
body of silk; and her heart of waving
care-
It was She, that allowed me to hear your
voice; Kiss your lips; And touch your
soul with love-

This needs to be read by every person who lives in freedom, that perhaps they will understand the price paid for the life they live today. It is not only very high, it was paid out of honor and respect for a belief, that we should all be willing to uphold and defend. Let the rivers of blood ever be remembered, that we will hold dear the freedom that we have been granted through the sacrifice of many. A warrior's heart is like none other! What a wonderful write this is, Lisa. Once again, you have climbed into the soul of the soldier and into the moment when that Freedom Fighter took his final breath and honored his family and his country with his sacrifice. Poetry just doesn't get any better than this!!
