Stingers of Blissful Intent

It’s there; Lying uncomfortably against the roughness
of my soul-
Forthright to the mold that’s been laid about through the
ages of time-
Burning evening horizons; Hot and awaiting the disaster
that will follow behind the edges of painful disgust-
I cry; I weep; No, I shout to wake the sleepy one; The
arrogant clowns that believe in bright red noses and
painted faces-
Those who store their faith in less than a thimble of measurement;
Oh stumble no more in weakness; Fall no more on the dusty
road to oblivion; For the pathway has overgrown without the
prints of my footstep or yours

Some wash their face in the cesspools of pre-dawn promise; Silver
lined with disease and angst-
Carry on; Walk on; Walk by the whittled down; Scraped virgin youth
of our world-
Touch the stone face creature of the next generation of howling beasts-
and know they will devour you within the moment-
Never giving thanks, for the bones saved for tomorrow’s feast

They lie in the shadows subtle and still; Listening only for the
heartbeat to die-
Not yours nor mine; It’s theirs they need to feel drain through the
catheter of shameless mazes-
Their nourishment of choice is hatred, and while they lick their lips
and enjoy your fearful tears,
You feed them one bite at a time; One handful at a time; Without
any warrant or need for response-
As long as you know, they will never fill the crater of hunger they
have for death-

So walk on; Carry on down the pathways of blindness and tripwires-
Exhaust your energy of arrogance and foolishness-
Sleep while the waves wash ashore the stingers of blissful intent-
while they gnaw on the scraps of our ignorance-
Walk on; Step lightly; Cry not for those left weeping in silence and
lost promises-
For soon, there will be no need for warrant or response, as they listen
for the last heartbeat to die

Lisa,

Exceptionally written, this is a clarion call to remove the blinders and make a stand for change. Well done, my friend, keep sounding the alarm!

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

May God bless you this Easter, and always, as He has me. :)

I too agree with Sherry and Joyce, you are sounding the call and we can only hope and pray others heed, but exprience tells us otherwise...thousands of years of it! Great write Lisa!

Damn, small enough print to make a lawyer happy, Lisa. Still, my tired old eyes managed to get it read and I concur wholeheardedly with your premise. Where in the hell is Ronald Reagan when we need him . . . Again?

This has a flavor of old worldliness, Lisa; a voice crying in the wilderness; the tree falling in the forest. You warn those who live with blinders on, and who think all that happens will not have an effect on them. All that happens to you, happens to me. Excellent write. Peace. Joyce

Most of us are guilty of burying our head in the sand in favor of the pretty lies, Lisa. We want to believe that all is right with the world so we simply pretend that there is not an ongoing threat. Many of us decide that the responsibility of ensuring our lifestyle lies with others and is not our responsibility at all. We are all drowning in a troubled sea while we choose to believe that the waves are washing away all of the threats to our freedom. Hope for the future does no lie in deception of ourselves but in the facing of realities and the defense of those things that we hold dear. Well done, Lisa!
Take care,
Sherry

You continue to sound the clarion call to awaken the sleepy and downcast in our society, we have lost our way in the maze and labyrintht of life, forgotten our debt of honor to our predecessors, and walk in a godless and selfish manner, that ill befits us !
There is Hope, all is not yet lost, and if we continue in our efforts and labours to oppose evil in every shape and form, with the Grace of God, and with our prayers and entreaties to Heaven, we will bring about the Age of Aquarius, where the lamb can lie down with the lion, and our children have a new bright frontier of Hope and Light, under the wings of the Almighty !
