How many times? Yes, How many times will it stop before it’s gone forever? Never to return to us- To me? To you? To all of humanity?I ask, How many? Will we wake, (or will we at all) one day and find it has swallowed our entire world? In one big gulp, and never choked? Then smiled, picking its shiny white teeth, before it rested on the moonbeams bright and fair, it has now claimed as its own? Oh how sad. It’s sad I say… I say this to you, and to you, Oh, and to… and to Me. And to Me, as I stand merrily today in the plush garden of time, surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of nature-- Of Time- How can it be so cruel? So innocent? So important, that we can’t exist without it, yet it can and will still exist, without us?(Or will it at all?) Will it wake and find it too will and can feel the cold shoulder of sadness.. Aloneness in the darkness of its own non-existence? Time?
A marker, an index, a way to align occurances in our lives...time doesn't mean much as long as we believe it to be on our side but once that table has turned, we tend to think of time as our adversary, as if it truly was stealing something from us. If we make the best of the time we have, time won't seem like so much of an enemy. Perhaps time is an illusion or perhaps we have the ability to be living in parallel time...I am not sure we will ever understand it but we are certainly all intrigued by it...so much so that we even wear "timepieces" so we always know exactly what time it "actually" is...Very cool write, Lisa. You tossed out a lot for us to chew on.
Take care,
Sherry
Dear readers, this is my third book of poems, and inside are a special collection of what have turned out to be not only MY personal favorites, but also the favorites of many of YOU. Some of these have never been available in print before...
Enjoyed.

The image of time picking its shiny white teeth was brilliant.
