Sometimes

Sometimes, one just can’t imagine,
Sometimes, one just don’t see-
Sometimes, one may not be able-
to have the heart, to be set free

But I do; Yes I do; I’m gonna step
down off this train-
This train I been ridin’ for all
these years-
Been watchin’ the world
from behind the glass-
gonna’ wipe away the goodbye tears

While the weight may bear down
and hurt-
While the clouds may gather ‘round-
I know somewhere beyond it all-
There’s sunshine and sturdy ground

And, I intend to find it-
I won’t give up the search; Not until I see-
The open gate of opportunity-
The one that sets me free

And so this journey may be long-
but that’s okay with me-
I’ve a lifetime to get it right-
Sometimes, that’s just the way it
has to be

Your words have a great rhythm...set it to music if you haven't already. I especially like that last verse. You "ain't" done, until you're really done. ROFL

Very good. I live by the motto that if I don't get something done in 5 minutes, there will still be another 5 minutes for me to work on something. And, I only allow myself 5 minutes of anger and then it's over. Good write.

Wonderful is the thought and love behind this write of hope and desire, like a new strength has been uncovered and you know you can take on the world to get to your spot in time.

This is such an inspiring offering, Lisa. There comes a time or two in our lifetime that we need to evaluate exactly where we are and where we need to be. When the answer to both questions isn't the same, it is time to modify and get back on track; say goodbye to the rat race and head off toward our dreams. Don't wander too far, Lisa, we would surely miss your excellent poems and stories.
Take care,
Sherry

Amen, Lisa. Rome wasn't built in a day and thankfully we do have a lifetime to pursue our goals and find our way. Don't ever give up. This is a moving piece that is destined to inspire many people.

In the Whirlwind by Tichaona Chinyelu

In the Whirlwind is a poetic storm that frees history from the cages of corruption and puts it in the hands of everyday people. Words are weaved into a new fashion statement that has nothing to do with runways but everything to do with projects!
