The Lost Hour I searched for you but I could find no proof that You were really lost No one actually saw you leave And when I took a count It appeared that none were missing Darkness does seem to come later As does the break of the dawn Though their cycle remains the same Could it be that you Have simply created the illusion Of your own disappearance Will we be taken in by your trick As you steal the evening light to amuse the ghouls Or will you offer us a Halloween treat With your gift of early morning sunlight I believe that you will return, just as you disappeared And that the loss of you was simply a grand illusion Sherry Gail Heim October 30, 2004 Copyright � Sherry Gail Heim 2004 Don�t forget to set your clocks back tonight, everyone That is, of course, unless, you live in Arizona (the smart State!).
