Mental Breezes It’s all the little things in life That make each day unique A morning’s sunrise all aglow Purple, gold and pink First rays of sunshine glistening Upon the morning dew Funny how these little things Make me think of you The gentle scent of roses As I’m walking nature’s path A chirping songbird by the lake Enjoying morning’s bath The fresh taste of the mountain air As I stroll beside a stream Thoughts of you caress my soul Much like a wine kissed dream The quiet times I sit alone Beside a crackling fire Beneath the starry evening sky Joined by an insect choir The gentle mist of waterfall Soft upon my hair Brings to mind your tender kiss The time you joined me there It’s funny how life’s little things Take on a special glow When thoughts of lovers mingle in To the daily status quo Sherry Heim May 6, 2002 Copyright © Sherry Gail Heim 2002
