Halloween Graveyard

The Halloween has finally come

A haunting’s in the air

The ghosts and goblins could barely wait

For this graveyard ghoul affair

A bubbling cauldron sits on a log

Above a crackling fire

An evil witch with skin of green

Cackles out her mad desire

Adding wing of dragon, tail of newt

Into the steaming pot

Some nasty thorns and spider webs

Turn the mix to glowing hot

A spell she casts, inhaling mist

From the smelly purple brew

Her eyes roll back and her hair stands straight

From her mouth spews nasty goo

Her voice belts out in cryptic words

As she summons undead souls

To join her on this Halloween

And fulfill her evil goals

A vampire drops down from the sky

Disguised as a gold-eyed bat

The banshees wail into the night

Above the screech of an old black cat

There’s a moaning mummy dragging tails

From his body’s bloody wrap

Skeleton bones chatter in the wind

Luring kids to this graveyard trap

From shadowed trees hang big bright bags

Filled with candies and other treats

For greedy children who dare to leave

The safety of well-lit streets

And those who enter into the realm

Of the evil monster's den

Will find only tricks, not a single treat

And can never go home again

Bravo excellent and courageous, you dared say what others have in mind. I don't think that the parents really want their kids to enter this realm, either they are careless or they don't realize where they are leading their kids. Again congratulations, Sherry

The graveyard--an apt setting for Halloween. Don't think I want to meet up with that witch though. She sounds absolutely frightening. Happy Halloween!!!

Captivating excellence...you weave a magical spell...and then BAM, catch them in the end! Most powerful, thought provoking twist: well done!
