A little fun for the kids

Poem Artwork

Supersonic Broomsticks

Witches tuning up their spacecrafts

For the race that's starting soon

Supersonic broomsticks

'cross the face of golden moon

Turbo bats with Lear Jet wings

Await their chance to soar

Competing with the witches

To even up the score

Black Cats are waiting patiently

For the chance to hitch a ride

Broomsticks lined against the wall

Silk hats stacked by their side

Skeletons and ghouls fill the seats

In the graveyard viewing space

Waving flags and placing bets

On their favorite flying ace

The winners earn big bags of treats

The losers must eat slime

Will this race go down in history

Or fail the test of time

I can't imagine what kind of green crap comes out of those engines! Taking the witch's ride to a whole new level. Wonder if we can hear them cackling near the moon? Probably little kids can when they spot them scooting across just before their jump back in bed and pretend that they were fast asleep.

Why limit it to supersonic? Why not make a quantum leap? Unless there's a limit to witchery's acumen, of course! I sense a political analogue in this but perhaps it's just my warlockian senses rousing themselves awake! Regardless, I enjoy this one, since as a former card-carrying 'supersonicker', anything that goes that fast deserves my respect. As Tom Cruise so amusingly put it in the original 'TOP GUN' film of 1986, "I feel the need! The need for SPEED!" :) Witchever witch wins, may the best one do so! -K2
