Tick of Times
Time Ticks away unnoticed.
It is sometimes hard to give life focus.
Seconds slip away and the ticking of the
hours and the days.
Time ticks on and on,
through the old, through the new.
Swiftly moving, never lasting, time keeps
ticking right through.
Hold on as wings of time take off and fly
right by.
Away the minutes go, with the memories you
cannot show.
Through the smiles, the laughter, the pain
and the tears, all the sorrows of the years!
The pain will not last because time will
pass.
Let it be your teacher, let it be your friend.
Let it enable you to enjoy life right
until the end!
What a balm for a soul who is perhaps too concious of the relentless march of time! You capture the sense of times racing, by the rythym in this poem, and I just relish the ending! That time is a friend. A teacher. In this western-culture we need to be reminded of that, and your poem is does that superbly!! -Thanks, -Zach
