Final farewell to departed father, Charles Leo McGovern, December 30th 1996.
Farewell for now dear Papa-Sun,
You thickheaded Irishman that we loved so well.
We will remember strength, courage, and tenacity as your source of survival.
And so you chose Christmas morning to bid us ado?
You who so cherished that special day of Christ's arrival;
with its signature colors of deep red and green.
It seems fitting to offer you this pyracantha bough as we part;
long admired by you for its Christmas hues.
Red berries for the love we share for you.
Green leaves for that vast sea of tranquillity in which you now repose.
May the Lord remain your attentive guide.
May the Great Cosmic Force be gentle with your weary soul.
And may your next incarnation bring you much happiness, joy and peace!
Blessed are those that received the magnetic compass on the voyage through the sea of life, and can sail through the shores of existence
smelling the aroma of the flower of family and togetherness.
"Farewell Dear Papa-Sun" was written with ink of emotions of a heart that knows the links of eternity.
