How do I thank you for giving me life?

You listened as if I was the only one in the world

You urged me to look at myself

Even the parts that I didn't want to see

You let me know it would be alright

Helping me  go deeper and deeper

until I saw the beautiful woman inside

During the journey you let me know

you would not leave or judge me

no matter what we found

You even remained when I fell

and wondered if I ever would get up

How do I thank you?

By passing on what you gave me to others

Letting them know that both strengths and

weaknesses are o.k

Who am I to judge anyones weaknesses

When I have my own

I will try and help others find that deepest part of themselves

To find that beauty within

Oh yes, that is how I will thank you.
