Emptying ourself, surrendering ourself

strange words for our culture

But neccesary for the faith journey

What do those words mean

to us who are trying to follow Jesus?

It's like cleaning out a house

We first need to know what is

in the house. What is valuable

and needed and what has lost it's

purpose, or just cluters up things

Isn't it the same with us?

What is cluttering up our life

and keeping us from loving

and living a faithful life?

We can throw that away

With what we have left

we can surrender all our

spiritual gifts to God so

God can work within us

and the gifts God has given

to help others

Then we can true ly empty

ourselves and surrender

What a joyful surrender!
