Cindy,this poem speaks to me in so many ways.I have published my poetry book for over a year and I haven't gotten paid yet.Am I disappointed?Yeah,but should I feel sad about it and hang my head low?Absolutely not.No matter what some of my family members have to say in terms of having negative feelings about the fact that I haven't gotten paid,I will continue to write poetry until the day that I die.I'm not going to let them belittle what I have accomplished because I can honestly say that if they try to publish a book,they will not be able to do it well as I did.The greatest feeling in the world for any writer is when they have write a poem or a song.Whenever I would write a poem,I would always feel good about it because I was the one that did it.Its hard getting your book out there to the public and trying to sell it and promote it,but I won't give up.My passion is to write poetry whether I do it as a hobby and/or career.Thank you for sharing this poem,take care
