Where does my joy come from?

Yes, I have joy for the simple

pleasures of nature and people

who are kind to me

Even though these are wonderful -

People come and go and nature

is always changing

If my joy is rooted in people

and things it can quickly turn

to sadness and my joy is

no longer alive because of

situations of grief and hurt

No, my joy goes deeper

My joy is based on this

awsome love and strength

of God which is within me

This joy is a foundation from

which I can handle sitautions

that cause pain

This joy doesn't depend

on people and things

No, I don't always succeed at

focusing on God as much as I would like

But I know that is where everlasting joy is!
