A Mother's Song

As I wrote this I imagined a mother reflecting on her daughter and how she is now a woman.
Where are you going my little one? I held you in my arms and sang songs of love I dressed you and made sure you were warm Now, you are a woman You will be holding your own little one and singing songs You will feed her and make sure she is safe My little one is now grown Perhapes I miss the little girl I held with care But I have much joy knowing you are a loving mother and so full of life Where are you going? You are going to the life you were born to live Know that I love you just as much now as when I sang to you as a child The songs that you are now singing to your bundle of joy
