You see celebrations

of parades and television

showing families getting together

You start crying and feel so alone

Then you feel the presence of Jesus

He says I am with you

Then you sense all the people

you loved who have died

sitting at your table.

Then you sense all the Christians

who have followed Jesus

in the past and those mentioned

in the Bible

at your table!

You are amazed!

Then you see the mother of Jesus

Mary is standing right beside you

Jesus quietly  gazes at you

and you feel the strength of his love

You sit in awe of what is happening

You never realized you have a huge family

You are talking with Moses and Jacob,

and all the people you have read about

Jesus says a prayer

After  the prayer and much singing

each person gives you a hug

and you feel deep compassion

Jesus is the last one to leave

You have never felt more loved

and he says

Remember you are never alone

I am the beating of your heart

I am the light of your soul

All the people who were here

are some of your brothers and sisters

Your family is vast and filled with faith

You feel overwhelmed with thanksgiving!
