A poem from my new book "When Your Words Are Just Not Enough"

Peace Mind Body Soul

11/07

I’m on a search for peace mind body and soul

And that type of satisfaction I can't find with you

Not because you have any control over my growth

But your presence is interrupting the flow

And I have a goal that offers gold at the end of the road

A better me which you can't compete with

Sorry but I’m on a search for days end peace of mind, body and soul

That can't be easily corrupted

It’s not that I’m not feeling you

I’m damn near catching wifey syndrome messing with you

But we can't co exist with peace, mind body and soul

The combination of the two equals destruction and days of dark blue

And see I’m a California sunny days type of girl

So you and me and you and dark blue days just won't settle with what I’m trying to establish

The confusion you might be hit with is understandable

Most don't know the importance of peace, mind, body and soul

And the combustion that could possibly occur if you throw yourself into a relationship

That doesn't complement the peace mind body and soul which anyone who desires love for self holds

It’s easy to get deep into an unhealthy companionship

But honestly

I try to skip the depressing stages and self conscious rages that one puts their mind through

When peace mind body and soul is lost

And I can't destroy myself in such a careless matter because I’m that much important

Sorry but I’m trying to keep my peace forever

So when I find myself sitting at home cross examining my thoughts

And putting my peace in a box just so I could debate over some Donny Hathoway

Wondering who is this image portrayed in front of me

And one day I’m ready to take on the world with you

Next day I’m in love with you but the day before I was trying to walk away from you

And when my happiness becomes unhappiness then that's my sign to split

Because my peace mind body and soul no longer exists

So that tells me we can't co exist neither are we meant

So one day this potential disaster has to end and today looks like it
