Locked up

I know
What it is
To be
Locked up.


To hear
The gates
Slam
Locked shut.


To visualize
Loved ones
Walking away
Toward home.


The sounds
Are distant
As if
They are
In one world
And you
In another.


Alone.
So very alone.

Now, this feels of loss, totally, achingly, and with screaming quietude, the type of piece that 'wounds' the reader with the author's anguish.

Are we not all locked up by chance or circumstance and felt the pain of being alone in the world of men but love trancends all to set us free from the chains that bind us. These were my thoughts after reading this piece.
